Why is collaboration so important?
Construction is an industry where the majority of companies have been forced to compete on cost alone in order to survive. As customers are realising that taking this approach does not deliver the infrastructure that they need, so the construction industry has the opportunity to offer higher value. The challenge is to find the way to offer lower full life cost reliably.
In a fragmented industry, it is only by building the breadth of full-life knowledge into the project, that this can be achieved. To do this means that all the key stakeholders involved throughout the life cycle need to be able to contribute – throughout the whole life cycle.
